We understand that the decision to foster a child or young adult comes with many questions. At Fostering2Inspire we take the time to talk you through the process, and offer all the information on the different types of fostering you could get involved with.
Types of Fostering:
Each child referred to our service has individual care needs that may require a different type of fostering.
- Short term placements - Some children and young people may only need to be looked after for a short period of time.
- Long Term/Permanency Placements - We have foster carers who can take individual children or sibling groups on a long-term basis.
- Respite/Short Breaks - We have carers who can provide respite (emergency or planned) placements either on a regular basis or one off holiday breaks.
- Parent and Child - We provide foster care placements where parents receive support and guidance to help develop parenting skills with young children.
- Children with Complex Needs - We have a select number of foster carers who can provide care for children who have complex needs relating to disability, health needs or behaviour.
- Unaccompanied Children and Young People - There is an increasing need for foster carers who can offer care and refuge for children and young people coming from another country.
- Staying Put - We recognise the importance of continuity and continued family life for our young people moving into independence. These placements offer our 18+ young people with continuity of care and support with their education/employment in the early stages of adulthood.
