At Fostering2Inspire we welcome anyone who meets our fostering criteria to apply to become a foster carer. Here is the criteria:

  • Spare Bedroom: Having a spare bedroom is a common requirement because it ensures that the child has their own space, promoting a sense of belonging and security. You don't necessarily need to own your home; renting is often acceptable.
  • Aspiration to Foster: Prospective foster parents should genuinely aspire to provide care and support to children and young people. This requirement is essential to create a loving and nurturing environment.
  • Time and Flexibility: Full-time availability is preferred, as children in foster care may require round-the-clock care and attention. However, some flexibility may be allowed for individuals who work part-time, as long as it doesn't negatively impact the child's well-being.
  • British Citizenship or Permanent Leave to Remain: This requirement ensures that foster carers have a legal status to reside in the country and provide long-term care to children. It's important for stability and security.
